The annual cost to train one physician is $25,000 USD
The ultimate goal of SACH is to create centers of medical competence in developing countries so that children can be treated independently in their own communities. Our training programs help drive this goal.
Dr. Yared Agidew Awano is in Israel with Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) for a 5-year training program.
Dr. Alex Loth wanted to be a doctor to help people - “that’s it,” he says.
Dr. Stella Mongella is in Israel with Save a Child's Heart for a 2 year training program advancing her skills as a pediatrician so she can help save lives in her home country of Tanzania
Dr. Mudaniso Kumani Ziwa heard about Save a Child’s Heart and a life-changing decision was made to travel to Israel second residency in pediatric cardiac surgery.
At the Wolfson Medical Center in Israel, SACH brings medical personnel from partner sites around the globe to take part in the SACH outreach training program. Medical personnel receive in-depth post-graduate training in all facets of pediatric cardiac care, including cardiology, surgery, anesthesia, intensive care, perfusion, and nursing.
Training programs vary from three months to five years and are all held under the auspices of the Sackler School of Medicine of the Tel Aviv University and the Center for International Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry of Israel – MASHAV.
