The annual cost to train one physician is $25,000 USD
The ultimate goal of SACH is to create centers of medical competence in developing countries so that children can be treated independently in their own communities. Our training programs help drive this goal.
Dr. Michael Kangwa is currently in Israel to advance his skills in pediatric cardiac anesthesia
Dr. Abdullah Abu-Zant began his training in 2018 and is currently in his third year of training to become a specialist in Pediatric Cardiac Radiology.
Dr. Enas Kabar is a physician from Gaza, training to advance her skills in pediatric cardiac anesthesia
Dr. Fitsum has begun a five-year training program in pediatric cardiac surgery with the aim of returning to Ethiopia to treat local children.
At the Wolfson Medical Center in Israel, SACH brings medical personnel from partner sites around the globe to take part in the SACH outreach training program. Medical personnel receive in-depth post-graduate training in all facets of pediatric cardiac care, including cardiology, surgery, anesthesia, intensive care, perfusion, and nursing.
Training programs vary from three months to five years and are all held under the auspices of the Sackler School of Medicine of the Tel Aviv University and the Center for International Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry of Israel – MASHAV.
