Since 1995, Save a Child's Heart has treated over 6,000+ children suffering from congenital and rheumatic heart disease. Approximately 50% of the children are from the Palestinian Authority and Gaza, Iraq, and Morocco, more than 40% are from Africa, and the remainder are from Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Americas.
Dr. Stella Mongella is in our 2-year training program in pediatric cardiology, so she can return to practice in her home country of Tanzania, a country with only one cardiac center and 16,000 babies born with heart conditions per year.
Dr. Zarour, is in his 7th year of training in pediatric cardiac surgery with SACH at the Wolfson Medical Center. After his training, he hopes to return to home as the first fully-trained Palestinian pediatric cardiac surgeon and to build a pediatric cardiac surgery department at the hospital in Ramallah.
SACH trains medical personnel from partner sites around the world at the Wolfson Medical Center in Israel in all facets of pediatric cardiac care. They then return to their home countries to help children in need.
