B’Nei Mitzvah Highlights

We have many students that have participated and supported Save a Child’s Heart for their B’Nei Mitzvah project. Learn more about those who have recently supported our mission!

David

David celebrated his Bar Mitzvah in May 2021 in Los Angeles. David combined his love of playing the saxophone with his wanting to help save the lives of children suffering from cardiac disease. David and his family had a zoom call with a US young leadership director and came up with the idea that every 2 weeks leading up to his Bar Mitzvah, he would  send the children in Israel a video of him playing the Saxophone to brighten up their day. The children at the SACH house absolutely loved his beautiful music and David’s friends and family were happy to contribute to his fundraising efforts. David raised over $6,000 for Save a Child’s Heart.

Gabi

Save A Child's Heart is very special to Gabi and her family. Her grandmother’s cousin founded the organization and she was able to visit the SACH children's home and Wolfson Medical Center when she traveled to Israel with her family in 2015.  Gabi is a swimmer and decided that for her Mitzvah project, she would swim for Save a Child's Heart. On September 18th 2021, Gabi swam 5000 meters for Save a Child’s Heart and raised over $6.500!

Ava

To mark Ava’s Bat Mitzvah in September of 2021, she wanted to make a positive difference in other children’s lives. She chose to help organize an event called Play Your Heart Out, which is an annual sporting event which takes place in Atlanta and supports Save A Child’s Heart. Specifically, Ava organized a spin class and was able to surpass her goal and raised over $2,500 for Save a Child’s Heart.
