To help save the lives of children in need and to support our ongoing mission, please consider donating to one of our fund programs to help continue our life-saving work.
Laura Kafifa has been the house mother for18 years. Her role is robust and multi-faceted as she is responsible for coordinating what is needed for the mothers, nurses and children. Laura makes sure that all the basic needs are being met for the 60+ people at the children’s home at any given time.
Your donation would support the day to day odds and ends for the children’s home including basics such as cutlery, linens, baby wipes, diapers, towels, toiletries etc. and will provide her the funds to include welcome packages for mothers and nurses upon arriving to Israel after their international travels.
The Legacy Heritage Children’s home was created in 2015 and is a beautiful space where the mothers and children stay in Israel. Often mothers and children call this home for three months or more. The clear directive is to provide them with a warm welcoming environment. With hundreds of mothers, children and volunteers going through the house every year there are things that need to be replaced, cleaned and maintained. This fund will help provide additional help with some of the maintenance projects of the children’s home, such as larger items including replacing sofas, fridges, dryers/washing machines, beds, etc. on an as needed basis.
Your donation would help us maintain the high-quality care and support for these parents and their children during the recovery period.
Your donation to this fund helps support and maintain the playroom, ensuring that there are age appropriate games, toys, educational activities and art supplies for the children. The playroom is maintained by the volunteer coordinator and is the resource for our volunteers when planning activities and games for the children while they prepare for their surgery and recover. This fund will also include the following important projects for the holistic healing of the children during their stay in Israel:
Each child will receive an age-specific bag for them to play with, and to distract and comfort them while they await and heal while in the hospital. These small gifts will hopefully bring a smile and comfort during a stressful and emotional time before surgery or other procedures.
Help us celebrate birthdaysin the children's home by supporting this fund to provide balloons, cake and presents.
Support the maintenance of the skype program so that children who arrive in Israel without a parent or guardian can call home during their time in Israel. Staying in touch with home is an important part of the healing process.
By giving to this fund, you will help supply additional medications to patients as needed for their return home as well as help support the additional costs that are incurred when children need additional treatment or medication beyond their cardiac care. We believe in treating the entire patient so they may go on to live a long and healthy life but sometimes that comes with additional medical support or expensive medication fees. This fund will allow us to support those additional medication costs and treatments.
The Healing Arts Kits is an emergency, psychological first aid kit created to slow or stop the onset of cases of post-traumatic stress disorder. Designed by psychiatrists, psychologists, art therapist, first responders and caregivers, the Kits utilize techniques of positive distraction, stimulate self-healing and break the cycle and feedback loops which turn immediate crises into continuous trauma.
SACH will be using the kits for the children at the Weekly PA clinic as well as for children at the children's home who are struggling with the culture, language, and emotional stress of being far away from home and undergoing surgery.
